Fantissima video mapping
Flap. Change of location. In the rooms of Werft 6 in Düsseldorf, modern technology meets the 1930s. Here, where the lively stage set for Fantissima is also created, real characters are created for the table mapping. On the computer screen, the make-up artist is elegantly coiffed down to the smallest detail, the dancers are dressed in romantic gowns, and the director is outfitted with the peaked cap so typical of the era. "Skinning" is the name of the process by which these charming 3D characters merge with the motion skeletons created during motion capture. Arms and legs, torso and head: at every single point, clothing and facial features have to be adapted to the figure - so that it looks as natural as possible. The elaborately designed figures then gradually meet in the film studio, which is "furnished" with period 1930s furniture.
